M2BS Ltd t/a Laser-Ex

Single-use Packaging policy

M2BS Ltd t/a Laser-Ex is an office products reseller and a member of the Office Friendly business community. We recognise the importance of operational and supply chain sustainability through our participation in the Weaver sustainability programme. We are committed to minimising the environmental impact, increasing the sustainability of our operations and complying with all relevant single-use packaging legislation.

At Laser-Ex the single-use packaging used in our operations includes toner cartridges, pallet wrap, plastic sheeting, inflatable air bags, plastic bottles from drinks and cleaning products. Plastic bottles are collected by our recyclable waste collector whilst the remainder goes into general waste. Toner cartridges are collected by our cartridge waste collector for reuse or recycling.

Kai Galbraith is responsible for ensuring that the single-use packaging policy is implemented. However, all employees have a responsibility in their area to ensure that the aims and objectives of the policy are met.

Single-use packaging is a key pillar of operational and supply chain sustainability. To meet our goals in single-use packaging, we will:

  • Aim to improve our performance in the areas outlined above by
  • trying to find waste collectors who are able to recycle the types of plastic that currently go into landfill and
  • Endeavouring to reduce the volume of plastic waste generated.
  • Develop and work to a plan of action outlining measures for improving performance with single use plastics and dates for implementation.
  • Set a target for single use plastic reduction and increased level of recycling and measure against the target
  • Ensure that we are fully compliant with existing and future legislation and recommended best practice, where appropriate.

An action plan will be communicated to our employees through use of our general communications and regular staff meetings. This single-use packaging policy will be made available to all members of staff so they can see our commitments, initial actions and the subsequent results. A full review of this policy will take place on an annual basis.

We provide regular training to our staff to ensure that they are kept informed and included in our single-use packaging activity. New staff receive single-use packaging training as part of their induction.
